How We Work

Financial planning needn’t be daunting. We aim to keep the process as straightforward as possible, whilst also recognising that your financial needs don’t just stay still, they change over time. That’s why we see it as a continuous process, working with you to help achieve your financial goals.

We focus on being completely transparent with you in how we do business and our fees at outset. This means you can be completely assured that you know exactly how we operate which develops an inherent trust between us at an early stage.

INITIAL ADVICE & ARRANGEMENT FEE - INVESTMENTS & PENSIONS

Our first meeting is at no cost to you and without obligation. We will detail our fees and services at this meeting and you can decide whether you would like us to proceed with our research and advice.

Initial Advice & Arrangement Fee

This fixed fee covers our Advice, Research and the Implementation of the advice (if required).

Our first meeting is at no cost to you and without obligation. At this meeting we will understand your requirements and endeavour to have an understanding of your financial situation in order that we can best advise you. This allows us to understand the amount of work required by us and complexity of such work, which means we can provide confirmation of our fixed fee.

We will always confirm our Initial Advice & Arrangement Fee to you in writing prior to proceeding with our research and advice, so you know the cost before you commit. We will also ask for your signed authority of acceptance of the fixed fee to proceed with the work before going ahead with it. This means that you will not incur any fees until you are comfortable instructing us to proceed with our work.

Our charge for this service is a fixed fee which is payable on provision of the report containing our recommendations to you. If you do not proceed with the recommendations made in the Financial/Retirement/Investment Planning Report then we charge 75% of the agreed fixed fee as most of the work has already been undertaken by us (research and reports generated).

This fixed fee can either be taken from your investment/pension upon receipt by the policy provider (if applicable) or paid directly by you, due on your receipt of the Financial / Retirement / Investment Planning Report.

The fixed fee is based upon an hourly adviser rate of £150 and the estimated time for the work. More complex or time intensive work will take longer and therefore a higher fee will be charged. An approximation of the time taken for different areas is as follows:

New ISA – 4.5 hours = £675

Pension Switch – 8 hours = £1,200

Multiple Pension Switches (time intensive) – 12 hours = £2,000

Multiple Investments and Pension Switches (complex and/or time intensive) – 15 hours = £2,750

Example 1; if we agree a fixed fee of £675 for providing advice for the establishment of a New ISA, this fee is due on your receipt of the Financial/Retirement/Investment Planning Report. This fee could usually be paid from your New ISA by the recommended investment policy provider or directly by you. If you decide not to proceed with our recommendations then our fee is £506.25 (75% of the agreed fixed fee).

Example 2; if we agree a fixed fee of £1,200 for providing advice for a Pension Switch, this fee is due on your receipt of the Financial/Retirement/Investment Planning Report. This fee could usually be paid by your pension from the recommended pension policy provider (if applicable) or directly by you. If you decide not to proceed with our recommendations then our fee is £900 (75% of the agreed fixed fee).

Example 3; if we agree a fixed fee of £2,000 for providing advice for the review and suitability of your six personal pensions, this fee is due on your receipt of the Financial/Retirement/Investment Planning Report. This fee could usually be paid from your pensions by the recommended pension policy provider (if applicable) or directly by you. If you decide not to proceed with our recommendations then our fee is £1,500 (75% of the agreed fixed fee).

Example 4; if we agree a fixed fee of £2,750 for providing advice for the review and suitability of your multiple Investments and Pensions, this fee is due on your receipt of the Financial / Retirement / Investment Planning Report. This fee could usually be paid from your investments and pensions by the recommended investment policy providers (if applicable) or directly by you. If you decide not to proceed with our recommendations then our fee is £ 2062.50 (75% of the agreed fixed fee).
